Event Brief
To provide a stylish and sophisticated VIP function for the Topping Out of Mirvac’s Riverside Quay development at Southbank in Melbourne to celebrate the key milestone. In what the Lord Mayor of Melbourne described as a future “icon of Melbourne”, the event must showcase the new development and master plan to reinvigorate the community space at Riverside Quay to VIP investors, local and state governments, stakeholders, media and senior executives.
Scope of Service
Mister Milford invited guests right into the construction site of the Riverside Quay development, collecting Personal Protective Equipment at the registration desk with their name badges and escorted directly to the rooftop on Level 21 via the onsite “Alimak” construction elevator.
Working with our team of first-rate suppliers, all bulky equipment required was delivered the day prior to the event, and stored onsite on level 16. This included all furniture, audio visual and catering equipment with the catering kitchen and guest refreshments to be set up for the event on level 16 and the A/V, ceremonial tree and media equipment to be established on the level 21 rooftop for the Topping Out.
In what is an adaptive reuse of the existing eight-storey car park, the development has added 12 levels of world class office space to Riverside Quay that houses companies including PwC and Fender Katsalidis.
As the 80 strong guest list settled in on the rooftop and taking in the sweeping views of Melbourne, the formalities began with speeches from esteemed guests included the Lord Mayor, Mirvac CEO and managing director Susan Lloyd-Hurwitz, ISPT CEO Daryl Browning, Fender Katsalidis director Karl Fender and PwC CEO Luke Sayers with audio visual managed by Mister Milford with our our expert A/V partners, Technical Events
Following the craning of the tree to the roof and official proceedings, photos and media interviews, guests were guided down to enjoy refreshments and canapes on level 16.
Mister Milford combined the raw aesthetic of the timber and concrete shell of the construction with the bright and cheery colour palette of the Rivserside Quay branding as the key component of the event design.
Hightop cocktail rounds in timber with an electric blue trim and matching stools from Dann Event Hire tied into the colour scheme beautifully.
Using stunning concrete vessels with bright refreshing seasonal florals and fresh greenery, Mister Milford ensured the floral design was a standout and providing a 'wow' factor on the tables for guests and an unmissable pop of colour for the bar with florals going high and cascading downside of vessel with thanks to the incredible work of our friends at The Studio by Fleur.
The feature piece of the function space on Level 16 was our magnificent grazing table for guests. Bright, lush seasonal florals and greenery we massed on black metal stands giving height and drama to this centrepiece and leaving ample space for the food offering to be displayed with an incredible menu designed by Ed Dixon Catering.
